He started his apprenticeship on a Big Green Egg smoker and eventually opened a barbecue catering business. He returned to Ridgefield with a new outlook and desire to replicate what he experienced in Texas. There they traveled to over a dozen barbecue joints, with owner's generously sharing their stories, secrets and passion for creating true Texas barbecue. Owner Cody Sperry was inspired several years ago on a "guys trip" to Austin, Texas. We celebrate Hoodoo Brown's spirit and authenticity by cooking the best Texas Outlaw barbecue on the planet.or at least right here in Ridgefield. The event takes place at Abrams Park, 400 Abrams Park Rd. and Saturday, July 9, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. The Ridgefield Sausage Festival is Friday, July 8, from 3-9 p.m. and Jack Diesel & The Hangovers take the stage from 4:30-8:30 p.m.Īdmission is $13 and includes entry, a commemorative glass and one beverage. On Saturday, The One-Eyed Cats perform 12:30-4:30 p.m. Wayne Havrelly will perform from 4-8:30 p.m. Kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult receive a free meal, including a hot dog, chips, and a root beer. The annual family-friendly event features food vendors, a bier garden, live entertainment, shopping, and kids’ activities.įood options include sausages available in mild or spicy, boiled or grilled, smoked and grilled chicken, loaded baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and pretzels.
